Grammar Girl

grammar-girl-mastheadSince 2006, Mignon Fogarty, aka Grammar Girl, has been aggressively casting pods on the Web, aiming to stamp out the most egregious misuses of English in modern society. Although hers is not the only podcast to tackle language issues, it is to my knowledge the best-written and most accessible.

The show’s format is nice and simple: each episode is brief (typically about 3 to 5 minutes long), focuses on a single, clearly stated issue, and offers an authoritative answer to the stated question or problem. I’ve been listening to the podcast since it began, and I think that (along with ‘Grammar Girl’s Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing’) it should be required listening (and reading) for every grammar, high school, college, and university student. ‘nuff said!
